The problems Rob is brought in to solve

The business challenges Rob is typically engaged to resolve, and the results that followed.

What Rob does

Rob works out what customers will actually pay for, then sets the pricing, packaging and go-to-market to sell it. He takes products from pilot to scale and builds the channels that carry them.

Proof
  • 15×ARR growth, US$300K to US$4.5M, at a VC-backed healthcare SaaS business
  • US$90MGlobal eCommerce channel built from zero at Fortive
  • 1stSaaS product commercialised at Fortive after five failed attempts

What Rob does

He takes ownership of stalled programmes, resets priorities and funding, and gets teams shipping again. He understands the technology well enough to challenge engineers, and focuses them on what matters to customers.

Proof
  • 292→328Engineering headcount in six months, reversing attrition across a 300+ organisation
  • ~60%Faster regulated software release cycles at Envista, with compliance intact
  • MVPCompany-critical cloud migration turned around and launched oversubscribed

What Rob does

Rob builds the operating rhythm that connects strategy to day-to-day work: clear priorities, dashboards, weekly operating reviews and closed-out actions. Everyone knows what matters and whether it is on track.

Proof
  • +39%Revenue achievement through portfolio governance and stage-gate discipline
  • +54%On-time new product delivery across a global brand portfolio
  • 168bpsG&A reduction through function-level cost transformation

What Rob does

When major accounts are under threat, Rob builds the retention strategy and governance to keep them, repositioning the product around what customers value most.

Proof
  • US$1.3BCustomer revenue at risk protected through end-of-life governance
  • US$650MARR defended across 120 enterprise accounts, including 74 financial institutions
  • 7 monthsRetention programme later codified as the enterprise standard

What Rob does

He assesses the technology, product and commercial health of acquisition targets, and helps integrate or separate businesses once a deal is done.

Proof
  • US$455MDivestiture supported across commercial, product and technology
  • US$600MCarve-out acquisition integrated
  • AdoptedPrivate-equity diligence recommendations taken up by the sponsor post-close

What Rob does

Rob puts AI into production with proper evaluation and launch gates, and has the judgement to stop it when it isn't safe or accurate enough. The aim is measurable value, not experiments.

Proof
  • ~30%Manual effort cut with production LLM agents for tax and compliance
  • 80% vs 97%Clinical AI launch halted until it met the required accuracy
  • ~23%Faster seller payouts with machine-learning risk models at Amazon

Fluent in the technology, focused on the outcome

Make things better than you found them, and build capability that lasts.

Five of Rob's seven direct reports at Envista were promoted, and two of his processes became enterprise standard work.

Rob is a business leader first. He uses product strategy, cloud platforms and applied AI as tools for growth, and he judges the work by its outcomes: revenue, retention, a lower cost to serve, and platforms that keep creating value long after launch.

His speciality is helping organisations scale smarter, turning legacy, services-heavy or manual operating models into durable SaaS and platform businesses. He has built and led global product and R&D organisations in startups and Fortune 500 companies, with accountability for multi-year portfolios and annual investment of more than US$100M.

He brings genuine technical fluency, with a master's in systems engineering focused on software and information security, and a degree in statistics. His value lies in connecting that technology to customers, commercial outcomes and execution, and he is as comfortable setting strategy with a CEO as he is in an operating review working out why delivery has stalled.

Much of that work has been in regulated, customer-critical settings, including medical devices, dental, industrial technology and enterprise software, where innovation has to sit alongside reliability, compliance and continuity. His operating discipline comes from the Fortive and Envista business systems: Hoshin Kanri, visual daily management, performance tracking against target and standard work, applied without unnecessary complexity.

The operating rhythm: strategy, product, R&D, talent, commercial execution and business outcomes, connected in a continuous loop.

The operating rhythm

The cadence Rob builds in every organisation, connecting strategy, product, R&D, talent and commercial execution to business outcomes, so strategy shows up in what teams actually ship, sell and deliver.

It is the same loop each time: set the few priorities that matter, make performance visible, review it on a fixed rhythm and close the actions, then reset.

A global career, with Australia as home base

Rob has worked across the United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific, and has led directly in the Australian market, with a Sydney-based remit at Fortive and responsibility for Envista's Australian growth.

  • Based in Sydney. Australian Permanent Resident and US citizen.
  • Grew Australia at 11% in a market growing at around 2%, then took the playbook to Japan.
  • Commercial transformation across Japan, South East Asia, ANZ and South Korea.
  • Teams led across Austria, the United States, Poland, Estonia, Ireland and Israel.

Knowing when to ship AI, and when to stop it

Plenty of executives talk about AI. Rob has deployed it into production and made the hard governance calls around it, across enterprise software, regulated healthcare and a global marketplace. He has done this in the United States and Europe, inside the companies building the technology rather than adopting it second-hand, and brings that experience to Australia just as it is needed most, with the technology changing by the day.

Shipped, Dynatrace

Production LLM agents with launch gates

Deployed LLM/RAG agents for tax and compliance classification with defined evaluation standards and pass/fail launch gates, cutting manual effort by around 30% in pilot environments, while driving AI adoption across a 300-plus engineering organisation.

Stopped, US digital health platform

An automated diagnosis launch, held back

As CPTO, Rob set safety-first governance for clinical image analysis, predictive analytics and triage, and halted automated diagnosis when accuracy reached around 80% against a required threshold above 97%.

Machine learning at Amazon scale

Owned ML risk and reserve models for seller payouts, paying sellers around 23% faster while reducing fraud exposure.

AI in the deal room

Leads product and technology due diligence on AI and developer-platform acquisition targets, informing investment decisions.
